Description

The Symposia on the Ocean in a High-CO2 World are the largest international conferences on ocean acidification, organized every four years. The Principality of Monaco hosted the Second Symposium in the series in 2008, which lead to the publication of the Monaco Declaration, signed by the 126 scientists attending the conference. The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and its OACIS initiative have been long-standing partners of the Symposia, supporting the subsequent editions in Monterey, USA (2012), Hobart, Australia (2016), Lima, Peru (2022), as well as the upcoming Sixth edition to be held in Wellington, New Zealand, from 12-16 October 2026.
